Band Stand
Where better to put bands than on a band stand? Displaying the best of local bands, the bandstand will be loud, proud and the be place to get a great snapshot of Southampton's vibrant local music scene.
| Ensuring the mood keeps flowing, DJs will take to the stage between bands and towards the end of the day to spin to hottest tracks available. |
Scarlet Soho (20:30 - 21:00)
It may not be such an unusual sight now, with the likes of La Roux happily straddling the worlds of pop and indie, but when I first met Scarlet Soho, no one else was doing what they were doing. At a time when going to a gig always meant watching three near identical guitar bands, Scarlet Soho shunned that tired idea of what a band should be, got in a van with some synths and a drum machine and played pop music to those same audiences. Scarelt Soho have played alongside Delays, Razorlight and Flock of Seagulls. |

NATO (16:30 - 17:00)
In a part of the world full of small towns, with small pubs full of young men hitting guitars in bored frustration, it takes a special group of young men with a very particular chemistry to cause anything other than transient excitement. Nato are on Sotones records.
Luckily, nato (the dropped capital 'N' is intentional, to distinguish themselves from the military alliance) are such a band. |

Apollo's Arrows consist of three lifelong friends who began playing music together at the tender age of 16. The trio are from the sleepy seaside town of Exmouth, Devon. A mutual love for exciting live music and passionate song writing, coupled with the growing boredom in their hometown was the catalyst that enabled them to break out of their surroundings and begin crafting their vision, paving a path to brighter horizons. They have played with Drawings, Evei and recorded with Mutiny on the Bounty and The James Cleaver Quintet. |
